Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Akatora also relies on a couple of closely related browser storage technologies — IndexedDB and local storage — for the same underlying purpose: keeping you logged in, remembering your preferences, and making sure the platform works correctly. This notice covers all of these together.
Akatora uses cookies and similar browser storage only where strictly necessary for the app to function. We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics.
To keep you logged in, Akatora uses a multi-tier storage strategy: IndexedDB is used first, with local storage as a fallback, and a small set of cookies as a last resort if neither is available. This is strictly necessary for the app to function — without it, you’d have to log in again on every page.
The cookies involved are:
SameSite=Lax, Secure when served over HTTPS.
HttpOnly and Secure.
None of these are tracking cookies, and none require your consent under EU law, since they are essential to the service you’ve asked for.
If you enable push notifications, your browser also stores a notification subscription so we can deliver alerts to your device.
If you use Akatora as an installed app (PWA), your browser caches some app assets (images, icons) locally through the Cache API so the app loads faster and can work offline — this is a performance feature, not tracking.
At this time, Akatora does not use any analytics or visitor-tracking tools. If this changes in the future, we will update this notice, and if the tool we choose ever requires cookies or consent, we will add a cookie banner at that time. Our current intention, if we do add analytics, is to use privacy-first tools that don’t use cookies or collect personal data.
Akatora uses a map service to display locations. Loading the map involves a few different requests:
As with any request made over the internet, the font-glyph requests above (and a small number of static-asset requests served from GitHub) include your IP address and standard technical connection details as part of the ordinary functioning of the internet. Only the map coordinates you explicitly select are sent for geocoding — no other personal data is included in these requests.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to Akatora.
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when new cookies are set. Refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions.
We may update this Cookie Notice as the platform evolves. The date at the bottom of this page reflects the most recent version.
